Allison O'Malley's plan is to go to grad school so she can get a good job and take care of her schizophrenic mother. She has carefully closed herself off from everything else, including a relationship with Ethan, who she's been in love with for as long as she can remember.

What is definitely not part of the plan is the return of her long-lost father, who claims he can bring Allison's mother back from the dark place her mind has gone. Allison doesn't trust her father, so why would she believe his stories about a long forgotten Irish people, the Tuatha de Danaan? But truths have a way of revealing themselves. Secrets will eventually surface. And Allison must learn to set aside her plan and work with her father if there is even a small chance it could restore her mother's sanity.
Inescapable by Amy Bartol is 99 Cents
Amazon | 2.99 on Barnes & Noble
My name is Evie Claremont and this was to be the making of me--my freshman year of college. I had been hoping that once I had arrived on Crestwood's campus, the nightmare that I've been having would go away. It hasn't.

I may be an inexperienced seventeen-year-old, but I'm grounded...sane. Since meeting sophomore Reed Wellington, however, nothing makes any sense. Whenever he is near, I feel an attraction to him--a magnetic kind of force pulling me towards him. I know what you're thinking...that sounds fairly awesome. Yeah, it would--if he liked me, but Reed acts as if I'm the worst thing that's ever happened to Crestwood...or him. But, get this, for some reason every time I turn around he's there, barging into my life.

What is the secret he is keeping from me? I'm hoping that it is anything but what I expect: that he is not exactly normal...and neither am I. So maybe Crestwood won't be the making of me, but it could be the breaking of me. I have been left to wonder if the dark future my dream is foretelling is...inescapable.
Selling Scarlett by Ella James is 99 Cents
 Amazon | Barnes & Noble
Elizabeth DeVille doesn't belong at a party like this—one where the gowns cost more than her Camry and cigars run higher than her grad school utility bills. Dragged out of seclusion by her best friend Suri, Elizabeth is merely playing dress-up, rubbing elbows with a crowd that banished her troubled family years ago.

Hunter West is tired. Tired of parties, tired of pretending, and tired of trying to right a wrong that haunts him every day. Bourbon heir and professional poker player by day, by night Hunter is gambling with his life in a high-stakes game of crime and blackmail.

When Elizabeth stumbles into Hunter's den of vices, she's a light in the darkness, a flame in the void. And, just like everything he touches, Hunter mars her in a record time. To rectify the damage done, Elizabeth needs money she doesn't have, and she's come up with a foolproof way to get it.

Follow Elizabeth—code-named Scarlett—to the lush Nevada brothel where she'll auction her virginity and risk the only thing that's not for sale: her heart. The highest bidder is a familiar face, with wicked hands and the devil's mouth. And a secret so dark that it could cost her life.

Most of these sales end soon so don't miss out!  If you know of any others, let me know in the comments!

A.M. Hargrove
Author Bio
One day, on her way home from work as a sales manager, A. M. Hargrove, realized her life was on fast forward and if she didn't do something soon, it would quickly be too late to write that work of fiction she had been dreaming of her whole life.  So, she rolled down the passenger window of her fabulous (not) company car and tossed out her leather briefcase.  Luckily, the pedestrian in the direct line of fire was a dodgeball pro and had über quick reflexes enabling him to avoid getting bashed in the head.  Feeling a tad guilty about the near miss, A. M. made a speedy turn down a deserted side street before tossing her crummy, outdated piece-of-you-know-what lap top out the window.   She breathed a liberating sigh of relief, picked up her cell phone and hit #4 on her speed dial.
 Boss:  Hello
 A.M.:  Boss, is that you?
Boss:  Why yes, A. M., who else would be answering my phone?
A.M.:  Er... right.  Well, I'm calling to let you know you can pick up my luxury Ford Focus at Starbucks near the interstate.
Boss:  Why ever would I want to do that?
 A.M.:  Because I quit!
A.M. hit the end button and speed dialed her husband.
A.M.:  Hi hubs, can you pick me up at Starbucks?
Hubs:  Sure... Having some car trouble?
A.M.:  Not at all.  I don't have a car to have trouble with because I just quit my job.
 Hubs:  WHAT?!
A.M.:  It's time for a new career and I am going to be a very famous novelist.
So began A. M. Hargrove's career as a young adult paranormal romance author of self-published ebooks.  Her series, The Guardians of Vesturon, centers around a family of six siblings and is a mix of humor, mystery, suspense and of course, love.  Survival and Resurrection are her first and second full length novels in the series and Beginnings is the prequel novella.  Her third installment, Determinant, will be released on June 30, 2012.  (It didn’t happen exactly like that, but you get the idea!)

Review:
All I can say is that I really love this book.  It was very well written and I loved the story line. It has some romance and some suspense in very good amounts that I just couldn't put the book down.

Hargrove had me hooked from the beginning but she definitely reeled me in more when Preston came into the picture. Hargrove definitely did an excellent job with this book.

Avery Middleton just wants to get away from the normal routine that she is used to. So, she moves to another place where she meets Preston Mitchell. What Avery doesn't realize is, she is about to go on the ride of her life. Or the last ride of her life. Because Preston is not exactly as he appears. Will Avery survives this wild ride?

I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend it for everyone.

Illicit Love Review

Illicit Love by Jane Lark
Goodreads | Amazon | Barnes&Noble
Ellen Harding longs to be free of the life she is trapped in - her husband died at the battle of Waterloo
and her family disowned her and now she lives under the reign of a cruel protector. When her eyes are
drawn to a beautiful man for no other reason than his looks, she imagines escaping her chains for a
night by giving her body to him – to a man of her choosing – even if only to infuriate her captor.
But Edward Marlow is kind and gentle when he touches her and her subconscious whispers that this
man could save her. Yet how can he help her when she has secrets which prevent her ever being free.
She has too many battles to fight.
Edward is restless, lonely and a little angry with his lot in life – it is his only excuse for being drawn to
another man’s mistress. The woman’s dark hair and pale eyes are striking and he cannot take his gaze
off of her while she watches him over the top of a fan with an illicit intent in her eyes. But once he’s
known her he cannot forget her - and once he’s seen how brutal her protector is, how can leave her
with the man? But she will not run anymore than she will speak of her past, so how can he help her…

Jane Lark:
Author Bio
Jane is qualified to the equivalent of a Masters Degree in People Management and is fascinated by the things which craft people's personalities, so she has great fun exploring these through characters. She lives in the United Kingdom near the Regency City of Bath and has just bought her 400 year old dream home. History has always tempted her imagination and she loves researching and also exploring ruins and houses to get ideas. She equally loves a love story.

Jane has always aspired to writing a historical novel so when she was thirty she put it on her ‘to do before I am forty’ list. She completed her first novel ten years ago, never sent it anywhere then started the next. She’s not stopped writing since, and escaping into a mental world of fiction is a great painkiller to help fight off her Ankylosing Spondylitis.

Jane is a member of RWA, RNA, and the Historical Novel Society.

Review:

So, I really enjoyed this book. It's one of my favorites that I have reviewed. I must admit that I really love historical romances. I could read them all day everyday. I guess it's something about the propriety levels of a society and you learn of a different place and time. It gets me every time.

Anyway, Lark really wrote an amazing story. I fell in love with Edward from the very beginning. He is really like the  knight and shining armor type. He finds himself trying to save Ellen and ends up loving her from their first encounter.

Ellen has had her own trials and struggles in life and she doesn't know if she should trust Edward with those challenges. Edward on the other hand does not seem like he is going to give her up too easily. But, will other people and other circumstances tear them apart?

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I would recommend it to everyone.

Review of This Girl by Colleen Hoover

This Girl by Colleen Hoover
Goodreads
Layken and Will’s love has managed to withstand the toughest of circumstances and the young lovers, now married, are beginning to feel safe and secure in their union. As much as Layken relishes their new life together, she finds herself wanting to know everything there is to know about her husband, even though Will makes it clear he prefers to keep the painful memories of the past where they belong. Still, he can’t resist his wife’s pleas and so he begins to untangle his side of the story, revealing for the first time his most intimate feelings and thoughts, retelling both the good and bad moments, and sharing a few shocking confessions of his own from the time when they first met.

In This Girl, Will tells the story of their complicated relationship from hispoint of view. Their future rests on how well they deal with the past in this final installment of the beloved Slammed series.
Review
I thought it was fabulous for what it was. You have to know going into this book that it is the same story as Slammed so there is no surprises (thankfully Colleen Hoover didn't throw in a whole "and then Will and Lake woke up from their fantasy dreams and kept living their buterflying lives"). I read it about a year after I finished Slammed and I highly recommend waiting if you can! It was awesome for me to get to rediscover the characters in a new way (since it was from a different POV). I thought how Colleen chose to tell the story was an art. It wasn't like reading slammed again which even though Slammed was AMAZING would've gotten kind of boring. She brings the story to life AGAIN and in some ways it feels like Lake and Will are falling in love all over again. You also get a taste of all your favorite parts of Slammed again. I just loved reliving those scenes. I loved the new content you got from This Girl. You get a taste of their honeymoon *wiggles eyebrows* and the epilogue is pretty epic! If you are like me and can't get enough of these characters and rich story, I suggest you finish off the series and read This Girl! It's worth it!

Have you read This Girl?  What did you think?

Reviewed any books lately?  I wanna read them!  Post your links in the comments!

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Tour organized by: AToMR Tours

Book Description:

“There is a vulnerability there, hovering just below the surface. And I want to pick at it until I expose it. Then I want to kiss it."

Two years ago, Emily Burnham, had an epiphany about the shallowness of her life.  And she made it her mission to become a different person…a better woman.  Out from under the controlling thumb of her mother, Emily is tasting the real world for the first time.  And she likes it.
Nixon Caldwell has served his time in the Marine Corps, surviving two brutal tours in Afghanistan. He is back home, surrounded by what he likes best…isolation.  It's certainly the easiest way to avoid confrontation of the consuming guilt that is weighing him down.
When an accident brings Emily and Nix together, he soon learns he is not the master of his own fate. Struggling with his own pain, Nix tries to guard himself against Emily’s charms.  He wants her in his bed, but he doesn’t want her in his heart.
Having grabbed life by the horns, Emily wants it all.  But is she willing to accept just the small part of himself that Nix is offering?  Can she reach the part of his soul that he has deemed to be Off Limits?
This book is the follow up novel to Off Sides by Sawyer Bennett. It can be read as a stand-alone.

Wow is the first word that comes to mind when I think of this book. I was drawn in from beginning to end. Emily and Nix are two characters that you can't not fall in love with. Emily has always been the "good girl" and always done what her parents told her until she is finally fed up. Nix has a past that haunts him after serving in the war. These two could not be more different from one another but when fate brings them together over and over again I found myself desperate for them to be together. There were twists and turns and surprises and it was an emotional roller coaster. I highly recommend this book and personally think the author handled the topics in a way that further allows the reader to connect with the characters.
